MMIEERDC MOA SIGNING
In view of the current partnerships of Metropolitan Manila Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development Consortium (MMIEERDC) with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and industries, and to further strengthen various R&D collaboration, Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) was invited to partake in the MMIEERDC Memorandum of Agreement Signing on July 11, 2018 at Hotel Jen Manila.
Jose B. Patalinjug III, the Regional Director of DOST-NCR and MMIEERDC Governing Council Co-Chairperson, gave the Welcome Remarks while Engr. Raul C. Sabularse, the Officer-In-Charge of the Office of the Executive Director of the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD), gave the Opening Remarks. Usec. Brenda L. Nazareth-Manzano, the Undersecretary for Regional Operations of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), was invited to give the Keynote Message, after which Dir. Patalinjug III discussed the MMIEERDC R&D Agenda and Dr. Manuel M. Muhi, the Executive Vice President and VP for Academic Affairs of PUP Manila and MMIEERDC Consortium Director gave the MMIEERDC Accomplishments.
The MOA Signing was led by the Governing Council: Dir. Patalinjug III, Dr. Muhi, and Dr. Almanzor. The present Presidents of the member institutions and industries followed as well as the present permanent/alternative representatives. For Lyceum of the Philippines University Manila, Dr. Victorina H. Zosa, Executive Director and Ms. Joanna Juvyjoy A. Rojo, Senior Researcher of the Research and Innovation Center (RIC), were the permanent/alternative representatives that joined in the MOA Signing.
Dr. Nuna E. Almanzor, the R&D Director of Adamson University and MMIEERDC Governing Council Chairperson, gave the response from MMIEERDC after the MOA signing. Engr. Ermie M. Bacarra, the Chief of the Human Resources and Institution Development Division of PCIEERD, gave the closing remarks. The renewal of MOA aims to reinforce the functions, obligations, and membership of the Consortium.
